1. Home and Garden FestĀ 

On Sunday May 1st Germantown Ave will be filled with over 150 home and garden vendors. Enjoy browsing and shopping home decor, hand-made furniture, garden decor, plants, jewelry, clothing, vintage items and so much more! Plus you can learn from the experts at a lectures about sustainability and find service providers to help make your home and garden beautiful. Kid’s will enjoy the event too with stilt walkers and jugglers from Philadelphia School of the Circus Arts as well as a performance of Jack and the Beanstock. More here.

 

2. Attend a Woodmere Art Museum

Music Performance

See great live music at the Woodmere Art Museum with Friday Night Jazz shows. Visit the beautiful museum for a concert experience unlike any other. They often have artists that specialize in famous musicians works like The Temptations, Wilson Pickett, and Jimi Hendrix. Check out their schedule here.

 

3. Take A Tour of Morris Arboretum

Spring is one of the best times of the year to take a tour at Morris Arboretum and this April’s tour called the Garden Highlights Tour: A Focus on the Environment is sure to delight. Weekdays at 10:30am or Weekends at 1:00pm you will get an inside look on how Morris Arboretum cares for the environment, learn about their history, plant research and more. More here.

4. Second Saturdays

Stroll down charming Germantown Ave every Second Saturday until October. Shop local shops, enjoy restaurant specials, and be entertained talented artists! The next Second Saturday is May 14th and find out more about the event here.

5. Volunteer for A Clean Up

It’s time for Spring cleaning and that mean cleaning the Earth and keeping our parks clean. Every year the Friend of Wissahickon hosts their Annual Creek Clean-Up off of Bell’s Mill road at Wissahickon Creek. This is a high traffic area which sees a lot of trash buildup, so volunteering to help clean it up will make a huge difference! Register to volunteer here.
